So the last time I interviewed with Nikki my hair color was black and untouched. I was rocking the fro-hawk style and curly afro. Since then, I cut it and rocked the bob for a while, then dyed it numerous times and I even cut off the sides. It feels so liberating and it allows me to be creatively expressive.
Here is a video of my hair transformation:
Since the video, I wear it natural and I’ve dyed it to get the blonde color. It was a year and a half long process. I must admit the lighter you go the more damaging it can be and I have experienced a lot of breakage. My bangs are much shorter now. So, everyday I try my best to condition it. I use WEN as my shampoo and conditioner and sometimes for styling. Every week I use conditioning treatments like Organics Olive Oil Deep Conditioner, Moroccanoil Restorative Hair Mask, and Olive Cholesterol Super Shine and Moisture (my favorite!). For daily styling if I’m not using WEN, I use Uncle Funky’s Daughter “Supercurl” or Kolescrem.
The hairstyles I am rocking these days are my mohawk (with the sides cut this time) or, as I like to call it, my 40’s updo swoop.

I like the song in the video where she's getting her haircut. (singing) "I'm not just the girl with the curly fro…" Also, she killed Love on Top! 🙂 Go Syesha! ~KF519

You can tell when people can truly SANG…..They were like in super chill mode and still KILLED IT……Shoot, I'd have to be in costume, standing up, hands clasped, and focused on NOTHING ELSE besides hitting my notes, and then I'm sure I'd still jack it…..
…On my way to sing in the shower!
Ok, she better sing!! I loved the background too, they did a great job harmonizing.

I love this video. I have been watching this for a few days…
her voice is amazing and loving the hairstyle. She is right..the lighter you go the more damaging it can be. It's a plus she's keeping it conditioned. Despite that…it gives her a funky style and attitude. I love it!
