What a pretty hairstyle. I wasn't familiar with CharJay before but I am going to find her on YouTube. I can't fix my hair in this hairstyle yet because my hair is nowhere near as long as hers. I am thinking of getting some natural looking hairpieces so that my style options aren't as limited and so I can keep my ends protected.

My hair isnt as long as hers but I'm going to try it. 🙂

I love the tutorial. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

  • Jax says:

That was an excellent video CharyJay. Thank you for the tutorial!

  • TDE says:

I love this style. I am so looking forward to trying once my hair grows a little more! Great tip!

  • Grown Ass Woman says:

I'm totally trying this because I have been bored with my updos and afro puffs, and because of this I started blowing my hair our more when all I want to do is leave it be! I'm doing my variation of this style tonight! (And I have a wedding to go to this weekend too! It's on!)

  • SaBrina says:

That hairstyle came out so pretty, and I love the natural shine that the hair has as well. The makeup is on point and like the earrings.

*applause* That style was GORGEOUS! And I really appreciate YouTubers taking the time to truly edit their videos so that they're easier to hear, see, and follow along. Thanks so much!

  • Pamela says:

Char Jay, your styles are always amazing!

@Frustrated Anonymous – I feel your pain. But, I've recently discovered that "stretching" my hair makes it easier to do some of the styles that I like on different blogs and youtube channels. It may not turn out exactly like theirs, but I modify the styles to suit my hair.

I watch CharyJay's videos and they are produced very well. Her hair is gorgeous and she's always touting the benefits of Entwine Couture's products. I'm cool with that.

I want to try Entwine, but I am so tired of being burned by products that make my 4c twist outs HAH.

You know, hard as heck. Wirey. Broomstraw. Stiff. Steel Wool. Get my drift?

Has there been a CurlyNikki review of Entwine Couture's products?

If I buy them, will I get my heart broken again like it was with the Miss Jessie's puddings? (See descriptors above).

Crispety-cruncy helmet hair is NOT healthy.

  • Kimberly says:

Since I'm on my own protective style challenge and needing cute updo's, I will be trying this.

  • NewNaturalista says:

Very nice CharyJay. I'm going to try this tonight (sans the products, the ones I have will have to make do 🙂 I'll have to look up your review on these products!

Nice Char-Jay and since I wasn't able to make this comment on your site re your article on the makeup nazis I'll do so here 🙂

I love makeup and its proper application, always have and I'm now 51! So, I say to all those so called make-up free natural nazis…MYOB and if you want to keep it natural, it's your perogative ((sung to the tune of Bobby Brown)) but some of ya'll need the extra help (dark undereye circles, etc.)–doesn't do the total appearance justice!

I love watching CharJay on YouTube she is VERY informative! Her parodies are the best, hollywood needs to snap her up. I can't believe how much your hair has grown. Your hair is just Gorgeous so thick & beautiful!

  • Berthia D. says:

My hair is shorter than hers as well. But wow at the definition of her curls!! I liked how she had detailed information on the products she used. Well done tutorial.

  • Tara J says:

Very cute hairstyle. I'll have to give this a try. My hair isn't quite as long as yours so I'll have to modify the style some.

  • CharyJay says:

Thanks ladies for all the compliments! I'm glad you enjoy the style!

Frustrated Anonymous: I have older videos of styling tutorials when my hair was shorter if you'd like to take a look on YouTube. Furthermore, there are a lot of videos by other vloggers who have shorter hair with amazing styles.

Besides, you can always modify a style so it can suit your length or just use a video to inspire you to try something different. :o)

    Super cute! Something different.

Although I love CN and all things natural I am becoming a bit…frustrated…with the limited number of posts/vids for those of us with shorter hair. I am in a bit of an in-between stage and my 4b hair…with its major shrinkage… makes many posted styles nearly impossible. I can't possibly be the only person in this sinking boat…am I?

    I love CharyJay!!

  • purplgirl48 says:

Nice updo, CharJay is so pretty.

  • Anonymous says:

LOVE this!! I do not style because I have no patience and am lazy. How do you protective style ladies do it????? LOL

  • k.lynn says:

I am definitely part of the crew that is styling challenged lol. that updo is beautiful.
