A dress that does triple duty as a built-in scarf and hood..? Yes, please!
I’ve been on the hunt for a nice fairisle sweater for a while, and I almost passed up this little number at Rugby the other day. I was on my way out of the store, when I spotted it neatly folded on the clearance table. I didn’t even realize it was a dress at first, and I was pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem. It’s really thick and cozy, and I’ve worn it twice already in the 72-hours since I bought it (don’t judge, it’s cold outside!).
In other news, my husband had a grand ol’ time making fun of me and my abysmal vertical leap while taking these photos. He didn’t believe me when I tried to blame it on the heels, but I think I impressed him a little bit with my tuck jump… or maybe not.
I’m a career gal, living in NYC while attempting to climb the corporate ladder one fashionable footstep at a time. I always dreamed of a glamorous job in the fashion industry, but instead I became a technology geek and now spend most of my days talking bits and bytes with IT Directors. Even though khakis and polos are the standard uniform within my industry, I prefer dresses and high heels. The only fashion rules I follow are to have fun and keep it classy… everything else is fair game! I look forward to sharing both my on- and off-duty looks with the Curly Nikki community each week. I am literally ALL OVER the web, and you can connect with me via Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, and Pinterest.

I like your style. I plan on looking fly for many decades to come, and I'm learning that great fabrics and the right accessories are key to developing my look.

Rugby sales are the business! Proceed with caution, lol.

So sad that you don't have a Rugby in France… but from my one short visit to Paris, there are plenty of other great places to keep one's wardrobe full.
@Alicia
I'm happy to represent! Dressing appropriately for one's body-type is one of my key mantra's.
Finally, a fashion feature with a woman who I can identify with (size-wise). No offense to the skinny ladies, but the other ladies that you feature are so slim, I'd look like a clown in their clothing. Thanks for adding Kendra to the mix!
I am an absolute fan of sweater dress. So classy, simple and warm. It is perfect for cold weather. The dress is gorgeous and the material is quite nice.
Unfortunately, we haven't got Rugby in France yet. Banana Republic has reached the Champs Elysées but not yet Rugby. We will be waiting for it.
Yeah Kendra, thanks a whole lot for introducing me to that Rugby site that I was blissfully unaware of–They are having a huge sale, too. I have to blame someone-lol.
Oh yes you can wear that missy! I'm 51 and I pretty much can wear what I want AND look good in it! It's about keeping it classy (knee length) and look for rich looking fabrics and great tailoring and opting for rich-looking accessories. Shoot you can do it girl!
Looking good Kendra–Love that…reminds me of a cream cowl necked bat-winged sweater my mom had back in the 80s and she let me wear it (with my taupe leather pants) when I went to the Jackson's Victory Tour at White Sox Park…ahhhhhh memories!
I love Kendra's site! been checking it out for almost a yr now when she commented on a post here on the site. Always love her choices, very chic, and affordable
@anonymous 5:22- I'm in my 40's and I think with a few adjustments, such as lengthening some of the dresses and skirts, many of her styles can be adapted to women of our age group!
Kendra – I checked out your site! Just wonderful!! Loooove the shoes! Unfortunately I'm 50yo and cannot wear the styles, but I certainly forwarded your site to my daughters!
Fr Anon 7:36: Thank you for the compliment ClosetConfections! We 40-50 somethings have to represent!
Love this look…going to check out your blog!
Glad to see added to the list! Great style!
