I was organizing my sock drawer (for fun… on a Saturday… ‘cuz I’m weird like that), when I unearthed these fishnet stockings. This particular pair is double-layered, so there’s a solid sheer base with a fishnet overlay. I love how they give the look of a bare leg, but with a bit more coverage and a dash of retro-sexy. Now if only I could find a pair with a backseam, we’d be in business!
Since my hosiery had me feeling all ladylike, I decided to go full-on girly with a pink blazer and pink patent-leather maryjanes. And presto! ladies and gentlemen, the perfect spring outfit… in January
I’m a career gal, living in NYC while attempting to climb the corporate ladder one fashionable footstep at a time. I always dreamed of a glamorous job in the fashion industry, but instead I became a technology geek and now spend most of my days talking bits and bytes with IT Directors. Even though khakis and polos are the standard uniform within my industry, I prefer dresses and high heels. The only fashion rules I follow are to have fun and keep it classy… everything else is fair game! I look forward to sharing both my on- and off-duty looks with the Curly Nikki community each week. I am literally ALL OVER the web, and you can connect with me via Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, and Pinterest.
LOVE IT! Very classy w/o a lot of cheap looking jewelry mucking up the look!! Like my skirt lengths to hit at the knee better look and I don't have fat knees.
I don't think it's too short…just like when you were in primary and secondary school, for a lot of office environments (I won't say all), anything that's no higher than 6 inches above the knee is acceptable.
@Discovery I got the shoes on sale right before Christmas at a Miu Miu store in Manhattan. I found them online too at MyTheresa.com, but it looks like they're sold out now. 🙁
@Sparkle Arts I can't remember exactly, but here's a similar pair at Urban Outfitters: http://urbout.co/yJ5LFo
I absolutely LOVE that outfit! This is totally me! I like the fashions that are grown up, practical and don't make me look like someone dipped me in glue and rolled me around in a flea market.
Fashionable AND professional – a first for this segment. I feel like this could work in the boardroom or in the courtroom. The fishnets give it an edge without taking it over the top.
Loves it!!
OMG! I am so excited that you started these segments on curlynikki.com. In seeing this awesome outfit I decided to check out her blog, and I absolutely love her sense of style! Her choice of outfits is amazing! I feel so inspired right now! Thanks for making this a feature!
I really loved what you said. nike zoom hyperfuse 2011 is also a good recommendation.Very much advocated.
@ClosetConfections: Thanks so much for responding. Sucks that they're sold out, but a girl can dream.

Am I the only one who thinks the skirt is a little too short?
Love it!!!! I have said it before, your style is awesome and it is such a great help for the styling impaired!! 🙂
I'm not really a fan of loose skirts but it looks really nice on her, and her hair looks gorge !
Very cute, and the hair is the perfect accessory.
