My most favorite of your posts sooo far! John Legend looks great, speaks great and is quite the gentleman and you looked absolutely beautiful!!!

  • McDeedus says:

Congrats ladies! Hope there is another giveaway because I LOVE those tights.

  • Bridget says:

I had a fierce afro puff! Those leggings leave me speechless. I have to have them in my life.

  • Unknown says:

I had a twistout styled into a Pompadour with a twist up bun in the back to let my curls stick out at the top. Then I tied a scarf around the style!! It was really chic.

I need those leggings!! I'm a college student who doesn't need to splurge to satisfy her fashion needs.!!

  • Unknown says:

I had a twist-out styled into a french bun with curls out at the top and a Pompadour. Then with inspiration from the retro hair-style tutorial, I tied a scarf around it.

I really want those leggings!!! If I don't win them I may have to splurge on them… I'm a college student so you know we need to minimize our splurging!! =)

I rocked a curlformers pin up style. OMG to you meeting John Legend! I am so jealous.

  • hugheshair says:

I was up until after 11pm on Feb. 13th refreshing my braidout. My plan was to take a dozen yellow roses with 1 red rose in the center to my husband's job, so my hair had to be right! It was and he loved receiving the roses for a change. The red rose was a nod to one of our fav songs, "For Me, Formidable" from the movie 7lbs… "You are the one, for me, for me…" He loved it and I loved giving him a bit of the joy he gives me daily! Peace and blessings, Tammy

  • Anonymous says:

after having mini twist in for 3 weeks, I rocked the biggest curliest twist out I've ever had and I wore a red matte lipstick. My husband loved it and most of all,I felt the most fierce I've ever felt being completely natural:-)

  • Anonymous says:

Wynter Gordon is a curly by the way! You should interview her next! 🙂

  • Anonymous says:

I need those tights! My hair? It was in twists in an updo!

    Jill

  • Alicia says:

I had my hair in a sleek bun yesterday. Didn't want hair to get in the way of our late-night festivities! lol

  • Beautiful Mess says:

I've had my hair in mini twists for the past month. For Valentine's Day, I decided to let it out and do a mini twist out… Did I mention that I untwisted my entire head while teaching my middle schoolers?… they didn't care though. They take out their weaves in front of me all the time. At least I know that I have their UNDIVIDED attention on days like that. I intend to deep condish, henna, and do a blow out this weekend. With all the attention it's getting, I guess my hair is my valentine:-)

  • Tamara T says:

I kept it simple with pompadour on an old braid out and the sides of my hair rolled towards the back. Wash day is in couple of days.

  • DaniP says:

I'm rocking kinky twist right now(that I did myself, yay!), so I pulled them up into a cute updo.

  • Mz.T says:

I currently have my hair in yarn braids, so I wore it in a ponytail all day.

  • Tereill Renee says:

I wore my hair in my first…Get this…A pulled back ponytail, it was wavy, puffy, and cute. With a little bang in the front can't spell (pompadour). Anyways, the hubby love it. Also, I am looking for workplace fashionists to interview for my blog. check out www.whatisthedresscode.blogspot.com for more details if interested. Thanks

  • Zaralynette says:

I showed my hair lots of LOVE by flat twisting it back and covering it up! lol Happy Valentines day Nikki!!

  • AdS says:

As a single, 17 yo, college student with a test Wednesday morning, STUDY.

  • Anonymous says:

My valentine included all of my friends, so for a dinner out I did a tuck and roll on 3 day old two strand twists all the way around and left a few in the front out for a bang. I had fun with the homies!

  • Anonymous says:

No valentine day plans for hubby and me. Love is in the air everyday 🙂

  • Adia H. says:

I kept it real simple. I did a grease twist out on wet twa hair. My hair came out so defined. And I tied a head band scarf around my head. I loved it!

  • MissMesa88 says:

I rocked a two day old twist out with no parts,no head bands, just free with as my guy instructed. With a red lip, Awkward stage and all! He had a mini scavenger hunt set up for me at home and the night ended with dinner and dessert.

  • Joy says:

i went to trivia with my college roomate and my ex surprised me with girl scout cookies (my favorite) and a card…

  • Janae Strange says:

I'm conditioning my braids in preparation for my first official transition cut next week!

  • Joie says:

I studied for my midterm ate chocolates and did a funky updo with a cutesy headband fto write my midterm. First time wearing my hair out for the winter!
It's been knitted hats since december :s

  • fricinfracin says:

I managed to wake up, pull out my transition twist outs and it not be a hot mess for once. score! Munching on a chicago pizza in denver drinking sparkling apple cidar with the boy. I imagine my hair no longer looks great but who notices? My boyfriend encouraged me to go natural so. Score, again.

  • MsInimitable says:

I prepped my hair (Bella) with a deep conditioning, and set her in twist for a luxurious twist out today. I love Bella and I love my husband, therefore this valentine's day I showered them both with love. No half-stepping!

  • Unknown says:

I did my first amla prepoo treatment on my hair and let it sit overnight because I decided to make my hair my valentine and show it lots of love all day. I then shampooed with kinky curly come clean. I then made a deep conditioner mix with some oils like aloe vera, castor, jojoba, and sesame and did medium sized twists making sure all of my hair was covered with deep conditioner.

  • Sherica says:

Refresh my twist-out using Miss Jessie's curly pudding. I just recently got a Deva cut so the curls are all kinds of gorgeous dahling lol. But not only does Miss Jessie's curly pudding leave my curls looking defined and full, but it also smells like "great sex", which is a plus on any occasion that you may be spending time with your boo thang including Valentines day ;-).

  • Shoshoni says:

My V-Day hair plans will be oiling with Vatika and keeping it tied up in a scarf. No work for me tonight so my hair will have a break from it's daily wash-n-go. I'll be having a low-key evening at home with my 12 year old son….pigging out on a heart-shaped strawberry shortcake!!!!! hee hee heeee!

  • Kimberly says:

Wash and go all the way!!! BIG HAIR with—Curls Waves and Kinks all over the place. LOL

  • UrbanChic says:

Two strand twists and hidden away 🙁

  • Bree says:

Today I have to work, so I'll just have my hair in a twist out ponytail; however, I'm celebrating my 2 year anniversary and valentine's day with my boo this Sunday. It's a surprise! I'm having us dress up super swanky, so I'll probably wear a fresh twist out with my bangs pinned back with a sparkly accessory. We're getting super dressed up to go to Bojangles lol his favorite place in the universe haha. He's always wanted to randomly dress up to go to a low budget place. Then I have a reservation for us at the Cheesecake Factory for dessert 😉

  • Nikki Star says:

My V-day Hair style will be a simple Olive Oil twist out with a side swept milk braid on the right side of my head and sprinkles of gold glitter cascading around my fro.

  • Franki says:

My single-gal Valentine's Day plans involve writing up a treatment and then going to my Film Adaptation plans (yay, grad school!), so I'm going super-basic. Side part & sweep the rest into a long braid on the opposite side. Simple, protective, and goes perfectly with my pink angora V-day sweater (hey, just 'cause I'm single doesn't mean I can't be festive).

  • Ras says:

I am not a big V-day person. I buried my mother 8 yrs ago today. Part of the reason I went natural is her. she loved her hair. And as this fro gets bigger, my g-ma tells me I look more and more like her. So in trying to redeem the day with love, Ive decided to try my first ever twist out. between that, thoughts of my mama and a home manicure with some new NARS nail lacquers, I should make it to bedtime easily with as few tears as possible. I cannot express enough my gratitude for this site. It has helped my self-esteem, identity, self-acceptance and healing so much. a first time henna treatment helped me get over that first hump after my ex-bf. thank you for being a strong woman with a voice. my mama would want me to take your example as a lighthouse.

  • noski says:

still in my protective style mode, hair in 2 strand twist & well moisturized. will not be going anywhere today, all plans made for the weekend…yea! to 3 day weekend

  • Kiki says:

I'm doing a big, wild twist-out because my hubby LOVES my hair like that. He's always saying how he doesn't get to play in it, so I'm planning to let him have his way…..I'm excited because we don't get a lot of time alone with two small children (ages 1 and 6, so you can imagine). We will have a quiet dinner at home tonight because its a school night, but this weekend it's on like donkey kong! I'll worry about detangling later 🙂

  • Ose.E says:

just got some kinky twists put in! they look gorgeous if i do say so myself (and i do!) so today i had no valentines activities planned but i had to go to work, so I wore my hair in a low chignon tilted to one side over my shoulder, accessorized with a cute flower barrette. I was very pleased with the outcome and I got a few compliments as well 🙂 . Maybe with those cute leggings I will have more to do on valentines next year than just work (wink, wink and a cheeky grin) lol

  • Anonymous says:

The most important plans I have for Valentine's Day is spending some QT with my beau!! =) As for the hair, well let's just say it is not of any concern tonight!! LOL! It will probably be in a cute up-do to start the night out……..

Loving the outfit, hair, and pics of your Cali adventure!! P.S. Who was on Boog duty while you guys were out and about? Pictures please!! =)

    Ayanna B.

  • Anonymous says:

I'm wearing the top half of my hair up in a fold-over bun made sleek with Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Eco Styler Gel, and the bottom half is out in a half-a** twist out with SMCES that actually turned out to be pretty cute!

As for my other V-Day plans… I have some pretty romantic homework to get to tonight…lol. 🙂

    Neesha Cherie

  • Mylah says:

I'm not exactly entering the giveaway…I just wanted to say YOU LOOK FLY AS ALL HELL in that last picture, Nikki! WERK!!!!

  • NowIamNappy says:

Since its Vday I did what I planned I spritzed my hair last night and did bantu knots. This morning I have the curliest Bantu knot out of ever, I'm in Love.

  • Breezy117 says:

My Valentine's Day hair plan is to wash my box braids and hopefully keep them in for another week or so. I know how important protective syling is but I miss my hair! Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

  • Anonymous says:

Please put Wynter Gordon on the couch, Nikki! Her natural hair is beautiful when she does her twist outs, braid outs. The girl is fierce!

  • Unknown says:

Valentine's hair plans… Well Im sitting here with a head full of coconut oil to prepoo. Gotta was && style tonight I'm thinking curlformers.

  • Jan's Sisterlocks says:

My Valentine hair plan is a twist-n- Bantu knot out

  • Tia says:

Happy Valentine's Day to you all 🙂 Although, I'm single :-(….I'm in love with myself and hopefully soon in love with a good man :-). For today, this special day, I'm wearing my hair in a braid out with the ends curled. Tonight, I plan to do an organic herbal hair rinse and deep condition my hair with some Oyin goodies. The whipped pudding will give me the illusion that I'm eating a box of chocolates because of the chocolately smell. It will be a pamper my hair night!

  • Tashana says:

I'm wearing a cream and brown beanie to cover my twists with a few hanging out.

  • I Am Your People says:

Right now I am sitting under a heat cap, so tomorrow I will enjoy my lustrous curls on Valentine's Day. And I better, since I have no one else to enjoy them 🙁

  • MzAshaZ says:

My hair is in an old twist out (which is how I love it b/c it's bigger that way, as opposed to a fresh one). So I just plan to wear it as large as possible & add a flower for my skype v-day date with my fiance…he's military & is currently overseas. :-/ But my fro taking up most of the screen makes him smile, lol.

  • Tasha says:

I am going to wear a cinnabun with a tuck and roll do. Cinnabun at the top left and the tuck and roll will follow behind the bun. My hair is in plats now so in the morning, I will have the wavy look. Just a protective hairstyle but still chic at the same time!

  • adventuresofanonlineshopper says:

I've got curly braids in at the moment which I'll be styling into a four-bun mohawk (make four doughnuts in a straight row in the middle of my head). it's edgy and classy.

  • Atiya says:

I plan on wearing my hair in a big fluffy braid out with a braided headband!

  • Sydney says:

This Valentines day I will be celebrating it will my new boo:Henna. As far as the night goes I will be watching pride and prejudice drooling over the oh so handsome mr.darcy:)

  • Quaneasha says:

I already celebrated Valentine's Day with a trip to Massanutten Resort in Virginia over the weekend. Still, I'm gonna pull out the old Curlformers so that I can look kewt while cooking my fiance a special Valentine's dinner (Salmon, mashed potatoes & asparagus).

    PS. Those leggings are hawt!

  • KARLITA says:

I have a job interview on the beach tomorrow so i will begin the day there. I twisted my hair tonight with Salerm 21 so hopefully my twist out will be on point in the morning. After that I have plans with some trig homework. how romantic. life of a procrastinator. But I loooove those tights.

  • Dr. Nikki says:

Keeping it simple this Valentine's day. My hair will be in a flexi-rod set, probably pinned up on the sides (semi-frohawk) because my hubby likes the frohawk style!

  • Alyssa says:

I'm my own Valentine this year, so I figured I'd show these East Coast boys what a California WILD THING looks like tomorrow! My hair will be in a twist out frohawk with pipe cleaner bangs & a green umbrella pinned to the left side of my hawk. To compliment the hawk I'll be wearing my pink, blue, & yellow feather earrings (from Wet Seal), cute triangle scarf (from Dots), my black jeggings, knee high commando boots, and my tan tunic (Wet Seal). It's gonna be awesome!!!

  • Yani says:

Hubby and I are going on our first date since we had our son in may 2011! I am too pumped, I'll be going big and curly! Curling small pieces of hair around a 1/2 inch barrel then fingers combing and fluffing until I get the desired volume I'm seeking! Think teyana Taylor, I'm tryna block views, ya feel me? Lol

  • CurlyB says:

Well, I'll be celebrating Valentines Day.. on behalf of all my single ladies out there 🙂 My hair will be in a two strand twist out with three flat twists on each side. Almost to look like it's done up into a mohawk. I figured I'd be a little wild with it since everyone else is probably going for a more formal look. I'm thinking that that's wild enough haha

  • Anonymous says:

Love the looks Nikki. I agree with the others that LA is so you. BTW John Legend better be articulate, I believe that he went Ivy.

Happy Valentines Day all. How exciting Urbancupcake! And freelanceflora what an awesome gesture.

  • Chris R says:

Valentine's Day hair: a big, fluffy braid out. Having a V-Day lunch date with my hubby while our kids are at school.

    I want those leggings!!!!

  • Natasha says:

Weeelll since I have to work on V-Day, I won't be going anywhere special. I'm going to pass out Valentine's Day candy to all my staff cuz they deserve it! I still plan on looking #DIVALICIOUS by wearing a two strand twist out. I will use Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Eco Styler Gel with Moroccan Aragan Oil. I'm five months into being natural and this is my tired and true routine until I get a little more growth. Your website has provided me with so much information and knowledge. I don't know where I would be without you and YouTube…lol THANK YOU very much for providing such great information! Those leggings are HAWT and I so very much need to add them to my wardrobe..lol Happy Valentine's Day to all <3!

  • Reeezy says:

I'm going to Magnolia Bakery to get TWO red velvet cupcakes, going home and watching crappy TV with my BFF until i fall asleep…WIN!

  • Micheal says:

I plan to go out with my hubby to a new place we have been dying to eat at. It is a well deserve outing because (Lord knows I love my daughter) we need quality time. I am going to wear my new red high heels and black dress. Hopefully my hair will work for me too.

  • Anonymous says:

I am going to try out a new updo this Valentine's Day. I have 3C hair that goes down to my waist when it's wet, so I've had a lot of fun experimenting. I plan to cut my hair and donate it to Locks of Love after my sister's wedding. Sharing the (curly) love!

  • urbancupcake says:

Well, I wasn't planning to do anything special to my hair for Valentine's Day but I found a small jewelry box in my boyfriend's drawer Friday…could be earrings but after 6 years better safe than sorry. Plus, my mom keeps asking what I'm going to wear to Valentine's dinner. Tonight is my usual hot oil treatment, co-wash night. Then I plan to put my hair in 4 braids and wear a satin cap overnight. In the morning I will apply my Chi thermal protectant and blow dry on cool if necessary. Then I will flat iron; finishing with a 2 inch round brush. Wish me luck!

  • Samst✰r says:

Seeing as though I've recently had my heart broken, I've chosen to spend Valentines Day showing the people that have always been there for me how much I appreciate them. In doing so, I wanna show my mane some love as well. I tend to wear my hair big and wild even though it tangles my fine strands and dries it out. This year, I think I'm going to wear a simple protective up-do to show my hair, namely my ends, how much I love and appreciate them 🙂

  • Niya G. says:

My V-day plans are to study for my upcoming History test and finish writing this research paper :/ However, I'm helping my friend with his v-day surprise to a young lady he likes =)

  • Ashley says:

Dang is it V-day already? Well, the boo and I are definitely staying in (we both teach elementary school and are KNOCKED OUT as soon as we get home every day) and we'll probably grab some chinese food and watch a horror movie while I snuggle up in my satin scarf. I know, romantic…right?

Maybe I'll bring the sexyback and rock a twist and curl this weekend 🙂

  • Anonymous says:

My hair plans since I have mini twists is to do a nice low side bun 🙂

  • Anonymous says:

My Valentines Day plans are to share my love with all the special people in my life.. Especially the little kiddies I teach 🙂

  • Beautifully Human says:

This giveaway is just perfect! I'm actually spending Valentine's Day doing my hair. It's been straight for almost two weeks. As you can imagine, my fro is just itching to get out! I'm going to do the works! Wash (with my Terressentials), Condition (with my Aubrey Organics GPB), Deep Condish (with Honeysuckle Rose), Rinse and shake shake shake to let the curly fro unleash itself 🙂

  • Anonymous says:

hahahahaha, ya'll look star strucked–good for you both! Something for the 30th Anniversary rehash.

  • Stephanie D says:

For Valentine's day I plan on giving my hair some good loving with a protein treatment and deep conditioner(using my best stuff) then doing a twist out and pinning it up into an updo with the top ALLLLLLL out :). Might just add a little rose in for some additional appreciation to my hair!

  • Karee B says:

For Valentine's day I'm going to pin my two strand twist up into an updo. I want to wear it out, but I have a performance on the 16th I have to prep my hair for. Either way my updo will be just as seductive

  • NatashaMarie says:

Girl you look so FABULOUS!! <3 absolutely Stunning 🙂

  • Angela says:

I am trying to figure this out now. I am leaning to a twist and curl.

  • molovefive9 says:

I flat iron'd mine and trimmed the ends on Feb 4th and its still holding on. So I won't be touching mine other than rolling it up on satin rollers.

Girl, you are kicking it with the celebs and I cracked up when I saw your hubby getting his in. Keep on, keeping on

  • Smellthablue says:

Sigh, I really love those leggings. Anyway, since my hair is in braids I will either do a cute bun or just wear it down. I'm so excited for tomorrow, I'm surprising my hubby and my gift has arrived early and my kids a trying their best not to spill the beans, lol. Oh and did I say I love those leggings.

  • bertagnolli_bride says:

My Gift to My Love, My Hair:
I will bathe each curl in organic suds. Allow each lock to luxuriate in extra-moisturizing conditioner. Massage it gently with tropical scented oil, and finally tuck it lovingly between layers of satin. Simple, yet gratifying and satisfying.

  • Faren says:

My hair will be flat twisted at an angle on the side with the remainder flowing free in a twist-out.

  • Porsha says:

This is my first Valentine's Day being natural. I'm also single. But that's not going to stop me from feeling my self and sprucing up my TWA a bit! Lol. I'm going to do three flat twist on both sides of my head and rock a braided frohawk I know it's going to look good 😀 lol

  • honeybrown1976 says:

I forgot to add my hair plans!

My hair will be in a lovely twistout!!!

  • honeybrown1976 says:

Since my husband and I can never get a babysitter, we are having a Valentine's Day lunch at a local japanese restaurant here in L.A. We want to use the time to eat, drink, and reconnect. As the parents of two boys, life can be hectic. I want to know my husband again as the man I feel in love with, not just the man I share my last name.

  • Naijaprincess says:

Hi Nikki! Tomorrow, Valentine's day, is actually my birthday- what better way to celebrate than with some leegings!!!! I'll be away from my loved ones this year, so I'm just taking two days off work to pamper myself. I have a fun-filled day planned for me and Willona (my hair), LOL. I currently have my hair in four big twists in preparation for a fluffy twist out tomorrow. My day will include an early morning run, followed by Hot Yoga, followed by a half spa day, then dinner at my favorite thai restaurant- and at some point I plan on gulping down my huge bottle of Mosacato;o) Just taking some time to celebrate me and give thanks to God for giving me 31 wonderful years!!!! Lesson- you really don't need anyone to make you feel special on Valentine's day or any other day- be the love/joy/happiness you seek and the rest will follow ;o)

  • Andrea D says:

Those leggings are hot!!! I plan on wearing my hair in a bun with a big side sweep secured with rhinestone bobby pins and a black satin scarf i will turn into a headband with a bow tie on top of my head. This hair style is similar to the hairstyle you wore that you got from Shanti from acurldbf.

  • Diael says:

I love Valentines day and have plans to dress very cute tomorrow. Unfortunately, a new conditioner I tried this weekend didn't go very well, so right now my hair is a frizzy, poofy mess. I have a lot of homework tonight so I'll just have to make it work! It might be a headband day tomorrow…

  • Anonymous says:

I'm going to do an updo from a twist out and pin a flower to it. We're heading to a vegan spot in the city.

  • Michelle @Radiant Brown Beauty says:

My Valentine's Hair is to keep it simple. My hubs doesn't much care but he prefers it curly so I'm wearing it in a curly updo created with released twists

  • Whisper29 says:

Valentines Day. Ha hubby just told me he is going to get us 5guys burger's…so there you go that's what we are doing but when you are busy like us with kids, school and work any quality time is valentines day…my hair is in a protective style…wig it and go

  • Anonymous says:

Sadly my Valentine is in another city. So Tuesday will be a Skype date. My hair will be my most important piece of wardrobe, so, it might start in a bun but by the end of the hour it might be in a wild curly fro c:

    <3 Tori

  • Jessica says:

Hubby and I plan to go to a Brazilian Steak House. For my hair, I plan to wear my hair in a twist out. I hope I win those leggings! You look fabulous in them!

  • pearlsandcurls37 says:

My boo and I are in a long distance relationship (15hr drive, *sigh*) so when we can't physically get together, we Skype. Normally he calls before we get online BUT on Friday he decided to call b/c my Skype profile was up….needless to say, my hair was a HOT MESS. I had some huge Ms. Celie braids in the front, bantu knots on the right side and was working on the left. I think I scared him. THEREFORE, for our V-day Skype date, my hair has to be "Beam me up Scotty fly". I'll be channeling Corinne Bailey Rae by attempting a wavy bantu knot-out accented with a red feather hair clip…and a red lip!

  • Char says:

Uh, hubby away, three kids under the age of 9 home — pull it into a high pony, slip on a head band and EAT chocolate!

  • Ilna says:

    Those leggings are awesome!

I'm not going too crazy this Valentines day since I'm overwhelmed with college classes… but I am going to try to re-create Corrine Bailey Rae's hair style at the Grammy's by doing a chunky braid out and maybe add a nice red rose 🙂

  • YAcree says:

My babe and I are not celebrating until this weekend coming, but I plan to try curlformers for the first time and create some type of romantic updo.

  • Tiffany G. says:

For Valentine's Day, I want to rock a flexi-rod set. I'll be using the orange rollers in the back and the blue rollers in the front. To set, I will be using diluted lottabody setting solution. After setting the rollers, I spray on my heat protectant and sit under my soft bonnet dryer for at least an hour and a half. Instead of wearing the flexi-rod set all down, I want to use my newly, purchased Goody's combs to sweep the hair to one side. Ideally, I'm going for a side-swept curly do. I love doing flexi rod sets and would do them often if I had a bigger, hard bonnet dryer.

  • Asia says:

I'm going to cook dinner and have wine with a few friends, nothing big. Lol

As I said on the forums-eat my feelings at Ben and Jerry's where I'm getting a free AmeriCone Dream ice cream cone. WIN!

  • Marcia says:

You and your hubby look like you are having a ball in LA! Good for you!! Your hair looks awesome, you have been switching it up lately with some cute style that I will be and have been jacking!!

For V-day my hubby and I will probably chill and cook together at home, I will have a braid-out using the Sheamoisture Restorative Conditioner. Love that stuff!

  • Sunshinecurls says:

I'll be wearing a twist out of course. My boo and I will keep it low key, sushi, wine thats all we need!

  • faren monique says:

OMG! I'm doing twists tonight. Unraveling tomorrow and rocking four doo-doo braids for the day. Come date time, I'll unravel and fluff for big, luscious twist out.

  • Sunflowergurl says:

I will rock a braid out and hubby will cook a sweatheart meal…afterwards, I will let him play in my hair 😉

  • Anonymous says:

I know this might be a played out look but I think it's adorable, cutesy & sexy all in one. I'm gonna do Curlformers and pin in some pearls. Pearl earrings and a mauvey-pinky makeup. I'm taking my guy to reservation @ Vermont (an awesome French restaurant) & a LAker game (he's a big fan). He's so good to me I'd like to spoil him this year. Glad you had fun here in L.A, CurlyNikki!

    I NEED THOSE LEGGINGS!!

  • Constance Burris says:

After three years of being natural, I finally have the perfect length and the perfect regimen for a gorgeous twist out. Unfortunately, I’ve been rocking the do for four weeks and I’m tired of it. So for V’day my hair will in two modest French rolls and I will let my outfit do all the talking.

  • Lynn says:

For Valentine's Day my husband, our son and I are going to check out half price books, have a lunch at a nearby restaurant and then later in the evening after baby goes to sleep we're going to relax with a movie.

  • NaturallyNatural says:

Well, I'm a single mom of three daughters (18,17 and 14) and I will spend likely another year with my children. They are my real Valentines #mother/daughter days and nights:)

  • Adrienne! says:

Well, I have in those poetic justice (I prefer to call them Nefertiti) braids. They are jetblack, of moderate thickness and waist-length. I have no intentions on taking them out anytime soon, so I've been experimenting with fancy updos (besides the elaborate buns).

My school has a formal event coming up, so I figured that Valentines Day will be my practice run! Besides all the tumblr inspiration I've gleaned, Alicia Keys was rocking this timeless, elegant (chic!) updo at the Grammys yesterday. Did you see it? So…I'm modeling my box braid updo after that, primarily.

  • Zandria B. says:

My V-day plans have already gotten started. I have been giving my hubby small gifts everyday leading up to the 14th. The idea came from kinkycurlycg on the forums but it has been awesome to see the smile on his face everyday!

  • BnNappy (Chocolate Hair Affair) says:

This V-Day I'm going to write a letter to myself… to my 18 year old self since I'll be 28 soon. And I'm going to talk about my hair and how it gave me a sense of freedom, self confidence, and how I am free to do anything that I want to in this world. It doesn't matter how the world views me, it doesn't matter if natural hair (red lips, pointy toe shoes, etc) is a trend… I can make new trends, I can bend rules for the existing ones, or I can not have any trends. I want to tell my 18 year old self that no matter my hair style, my body size, my skin color, this world is my play ground… and I can play any way that I want to. As long as it's respectable, loving, and according to God's divine purpose for my life.

Later that evening, I'm going to have a guy friend that I've been seeing wash my hair and deep condition it for me before I try a twist out up do. After all, he should understand the importance of a black woman's natural hair and how to care for it just as much as I should 🙂

  • DiscoveringNatural says:

Nik, you look "gorg" as always! Unfortunately, I will be solo on V-day. My hubby just flew out of state for a week long job today. *sobs!* I will still be rocky my two strand twist. Might dress it up with a red flower to pick up the kids from school. LOL!

  • Melinda Williams says:

I plan on rocking my first ever dry twist out for V-Day. My hubby doesn't really have strong opinions about my hair, so at least I know if it doesn't come out quite right, I can throw it in ponytail and he won't mind.

  • A. says:

Hubby and I are going to see FELA! I think I may rock the Twist N Curl or – I may even straighten. I haven't straightened in MONTHS and now might be a good time while it's still cold out.

Well, after transitioning for a year and a full year of growth (2 years total), a hair stylist gave me a haircut I did not ask for;( (yes, set me back at least a year). SOOOO, I will be wearing a style I have NEVER donned before – the TWA. It's not a bad look, but I like me better with bigger hair

  • J says:

You look awesome in your pictures, and I love love John Legend and Estelle….
I am in the midst of a separation from my husband of 4 years(all smiles here! No sad faces) but recently I cut my 5 year old natural hair into a fierce style….the sides and back are all shaved, and top is very full! For Valentines Day, I plan to have a very very curly two strand twist out. Semi mini twists curled with fkexirods….me and my 3 sons have big plans at Chuck E. Cheese! Enjoy your Valentines Day!

  • Athene says:

I see my dreams are about to come true with those leggings. Ha! Well I've got class on valentine's day so not much time to fix up the hair. I'll be checking out YouTube for a fun up-do style! On very shaky ground with the lover at the moment so I'm not sure what the day will bring :-(. I will be wearing lots and lots of red though! BAM!

  • JusJen says:

My V Day plans is as follows: I have to work and I have school so I will be rocking a big twist-out that was rolled on perm rods just for the day then after that my "Glory" will be back up in hibernation.

  • JayCee says:

Niki you must have read my mind!!! (Considering you are my FIMH you prob did-LMAO) I have been gawking those leggings since you first posted yourself in them…need em! Before I get into my hair plans doll, you must share what you have done to get your tresses oh so fab. You are bringin’ all kinds of WORK!
My plan is to skip out of work a little early today ( I know that is not relevant but hell I am excited). My hair was prepped this weekend with the full work up…y’all know: Cleanse, deep condition, condition, detangle, moisturise, seal. I am wearing chunky twists-pinned up for a little stretch. I will twist my dry hair in medium sections but only half way down and use a flexi rod (yellow and blue) on the remaining length. Not sure, what products I will use at this time though. My plan is to pull apart each twist once and then fluff the roots to no end. I am going for HUGE, slightly defined ends and wavy roots very similar to my profile pic but BIGGER. HA!

    TOODLES!

V-Day Hair: I'm finally growing out of my TWA, so I'm going to try a two stand twist out with flat twists. I will co-wash my hair and DC today. Give my hair a day of freedom and tomorrow evening I will spritz with water, glycerin, and EVOO. I will then put flat twists going up one side of my hair and going the same direction I will two strand twist the remainder of my hair. The next evening before my date with hubby, I will do a twist out, leaving my flat twists in place.

  • Candace4life says:

Oh um no plans really for me, since I'm single ):. But I just put my hair in some 2 strand twists all over with perm rods, and those came out gorgeous. But an early Happy Valentines to all the ladies that are in a relationship.

Unfortunately, my husband has to work on Valentine's Day. This is the second year and we've only been married 3. The good thing is, I'm not sad. Of course I would love to be with him EVERY day, but I thank God that he is mine. On V-day, I'm going to experiment with some "sexy" hair to rock when he returns. Those leggings would be an AWESOME blessing. I tried to get them, but the store is down 🙁
