Check out how Jamila of For The Fabulous and Frugal achieved this dope updo look–

Jamila writes:
After 2 days of wash-n-go’s, I–
-Co-Washed using Herbal Essence’s Totally Twisted Conditioner
-Oil Rinsed with EVOO
-Two Stand Twisted using a mix of Shea Moisture’s Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Cantu Shea’s Twist and Loc Gel
-Sealed with Shea Radiance’s Moisture Rich Hair Butter
I created this frohawk/updo look below by smoothing the back and the
sides of my hair up (as if I were about to put it into a high
bun/ponytail), and then securing it section by section with bobby pins.
Are you rocking chic updos this summer?
My updos always look like up-don'ts, but Jamila's here is super cute.
cant wait to try this out
BTW, Ms. Frugal–CONGRATS on your graduation!
Nice now that's a style I can love and go for! And, she's not a celebrity, she's one of us!!!
Is that a washandgo or a twistout?
I love this!
I love the updo and the definition in your curls. I can't wait for my hair to be long enough because as of right now my hair is about shoulder length when straight and up to my ears when really curly lol. Thanks for the tutorial.
Love it, dope style!
This is so beautiful. I really want to rock an updo but I don't know how to pin hair effectively. My locs are midback but I just can't get it together. I need to learn bc my baby is really into chewing my hair and with me pulling away trying to stop him has broken 3 locs this month 🙁
Boom!
Wow Jamila your hair is so thick, shiny, and just plain awesome! Love the updo! I'm kinda conservative and only comfortable with buns and other simple updos. Love seeing them on other ladies though.
@truthhurts: Here's some info on oil rinses for natural hair:

Hopefully, this post will satisfy some of the ladies who have complained about a constant show of type 3 hair. We ALL have beautiful hair, regardless of the 'type'. I see beautiful 4 a – z kinks, coils and curls represented everywhere, but latelty there hase been much shade thrown at ladies who have type 3 hair.
There are some of us who are biracial and have smoother textured hair, that's all it means. Nothing more, nothing less. I hate that some people will always find a way to divide and denigrate rather than support and encourage.
What is an oil rinse?
oh yes! the updo is my go-to style year round!

Gorgeous look. I will be wearing updos this summer.
Luv it! Will try!
Very pretty! Chic.
Super cute! Thanks for the idea!
Gorgeous hair, the style looks awesome on you! Hell yes I'll be updoing all summer, I love them! Messy, pinned, neat, rolled, 'chopsticked', chignon – I'm crazy about updos and NY is already feeling like the gulf coast so it's time.
Thanks for all the details!
I will be too hot! did she rinse the oil out?
