On Saturday, more than 800 curlies descended onto Charlotte’s swanky SUITE to celebrate the amazingness that is natural hair. There was great music, mingling, a lil’ wobbling and lots of laughs. The Design Essentials and UR Curly sponsored meetup brought out folks from as far as Georgia, DC and South Carolina. The hair was sick, the fashions haute and the atmosphere… bomb. We had a blast. Thank you Charlotte curlies for your hospitality!

You look so beautiful. I love how you take good care of not only your hair but your body also. It is so sad to see so many obese women at these events only worried about hair and not health. Maybe you can share your health secrets and inspire them to live healthy as well.

I was in the building and it was beautiful to see so many women embracing their natural hair. It made me proud! There were so many different styles, lengths, and hair colors. Amazing!
I so hate I was out of town and missed it. I see someone I went to HS with and some people I've seen around from just generally going out. Love the platform on the shoes!!!

SO GLAD I made the trip into Charlotte from RDU — it was EVERYTHING I hoped it would be and more…the hairstyles, the cute outfits, and of course, YOU, Nikki! It was nearly 9pm by the time I got to the front of the line for my picture and you were still smiling and BUBBLY, treating everyone like they were old friends! What's more…my honey brought his camera to take pics for me, and as fate would have it, it acted a dang fool as soon as I got to the stage for a pic with Nik. Without flinching, her darling husband-slash-personal-paparazzo stopped what he was doing and took the time to try to help him figure out the issue! Between that and the awesome advice from Monica with U R Curly, it was an unforgettable evening. Thanks for putting together such a FABULOUS event and hope your next one is just as successful!

My Hubby and I had an AMAZING time at the CN Meetup in the Queen City aka Charlotte NC. Here is a video of the 400+ Naturalistas doing the Wobble. Wow, I'm actually surprised Suite let all those black people in. I bet the owner was cringing the whole time seeing how they have a percentage of black patrons they allow in on any given night. This was the most they've seen since opening the club, lol!

I really enjoyed myself at the event! It was hot as I don't know what but, I still had a ball! Nikki is beautiful on the inside and out! Thanks for taking a picture with us! My 15 year old son loves you and he couldn't wait to see the picture I got with you! I loved your hair too! I think I will be revisiting that Redken because it had my hair so soft when I was relaxed. Alright alright! Let me tell yawl the most amazing thing about our girl, she walked into the meetup after walking up many stairs in her sexy pumps… Proceeded to stand up in just about the same spot for 3 whole hours!! She STOOD UP in the same spot to take pictures… she was bare able to grab a drink to hydrate. She didn't use the rest room, didn't eat, Nothing! She smiled and took probably more than 1000 pics before she was able to do anything else – great photographer to help her might I add. I love her… so humble, so sweet… I had a blast.
I love every single pic Nik!!! Because I drove from ATL to CLT and HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE WITH THE CREW… we have moved from BFFs to cousins!!

Inspirational hair! The ladies looked like they were having fun. My only wish (and this said with love) is that we would work harder (as hard) on FITNESS and weight control as we do on our hair. It saddens me to see so many of us struggling with weight. This has become REAL problem in our American society.

Wow that was a great turnout, and love the natural hairstyles on the ladies. But I hope the A/C didn't go out, because 800 plus people wow that's alot of body heat lol.. I would have loved to come but that's like 6hrs from where I stay.
