Shrinkage requires that I make short hair up-dos. I have my hair in twists, so I put them all to one side, then twisted them to the back and tucked the ends under. My hair is short in the front, so my hair there just falls into bangs.

  • Stephanie says:

My hair is longer in the back and sides and the front and crown are a little shorter, so i usually do a french twist updo in the back and twist/pin the sides into the updo, then leave the front out…like a curly fro look in the front. It looks pretty good!

Hmmm, I didn't really like the first one.

Love the styles. I cant wait til my hair is finally long enough. Hmm, maybe I can try them with my Senegalese twists, the second one at least. . .

  • Megan Montgomery says:

Mines is an updo with a claw clip with bangs I love. I never tucked in my bangs because they are signature look/style. I cannot do a bun yet it is hard for me, but I am going to learn now!! Going to check out YouTube.

My favorite updo has to be a high bun. I haven't gotten the 'messy bun look' to work for me so I just stick to the slicked down look with my trusty eco styler gel.

I can't wait til my hair is long enough to try styles like this! I'm currently experimenting with short-hair up-dos though, perfect for when I'm at work

I've been experimenting with a variety of updos so far this summer, mainly variations on styles I see on-line and so far I love them all. I'm just so happy to have some length to work with 20 months after my BC.

I have never done an updo before but I think I might try it.

I rarely do an updo with my loose hair, but if I have in two strand twists I will do an upside down french braid or a high bun or set my hair on rods and pin it up or to the side.

Yay I love Keythema! Really helped me learn how to moisterize and care for my 4b hair!

  • Gaye Glasspie says:

I have to be more creative, I will do a puff..but I need to dress it up more. Thanks for the post

I don't think I liked either of these styles. They don't look polished. I'm with Brooke B, the sleek high bun is cute and chic
    🙂

I need to get more creative with my hairstyles. My thin and fine hair doesn't puff up like this. looks flat.

  • keetaray says:

Love it! Updos are so sophisticated and easy to do. When my hair isn't in its current protective style (twists/braids), I love to do high buns.

  • Erika A. says:

Very nice. I'll have to try some variation of a "poof" that I feel looks right on me & add some accessories like a scarf, flower or bow. My go-to updo for summer is also a messy bun.

  • Brooke B. says:

My favorite updo of the moment is a sleek high bun, because last year at this time I didn't have enough hair, now I do, yay!
