It would be so wonderful if I won being that my birthday is September 30th! =) and I've been natural for a year and one month! It's more challenging when your hair is permanently colored because you experience more breakage since color requires more moisturization. Winning this basket of goodies (lol) would set me up for while! Both my sisters are natural and I wouldn't mind sharing with them on occasions.

Hey Mizz Nikki I have been a fan for quite some time and I just love all that you have done for us natural sisters, you have help me without you even knowing it, right now I'm having a big problem with breakage and I would love to win the basket.
This is an awesome opportunity for a girl like me (attending college in a small college town with little resources to buy and try products. I mostly go with things in the CVS and Target nearby that claim sulfate-free and silicone-free. I try to get one thing for my hair every other paycheck , but that's not a good system considering product lines that have multiple products and suggest you use them together. I hope I win and if I don't I hope the person who does can provide feedback. I'm also a fan of your FB page and I think I pretty much stalk it on the weekend (the only time I have hours to stalk people/things on the internet). Good luck, everyone!

Hi CurlyNikki, I would love a chance to try all of the wonderful products in the September give away. I transitioned for one year and then cut off what was left of my relaxer in January 2012, so I guess you can say I am 9 months "truly natural" and I am lovinggggggggggggggggg every tightly coiled piece of my 4b/4c hair!!!

Hi, I have all ready transitioned and have been natural for years now, but I'm starting to color my hair and the wrap would a great way to get a lit more moisture.
Jus made my own curling creme(shea butter, jojoba oil, almond oil, olive oil) and added some glycerine (glycering holds in moisture) and its working. This was the regimine in jeri curl juice made my hair grow
CurlyNikki wat hair type are you because I wud love to try these items I am a type 3c/4a I use lighter weight products on top and heavier products in back to receive curl definition. I would love to try your products, I make my own

As I am in a desert environment, finding products that keep my curls moisturized is problematic. I don't really know what to say, so ….. Hello everyone! I really want to win it. I'm actually going through a tough "hair time" because I've found some hair loss near hairline. This is because my aunties persuaded me, when I went to Africa for about a month (last 2 weeks of July and first 2 weeks of August), to get small pick and drop braid put in. I tried to refuse, but seeing as I'm 14, they just saw it as the ramblings of a young silly girl. Unsurprisingly enough, both of my aunties, the ones that persuaded me, were relaxed.
Logically speaking, I shouldn't blame them for the patches, because I could have taken them out but I felt really bad seeing as it was one of their "presents" to me. So I left them in. I now regret it. Now that the braids are out, I have decided to do some intensive hair repair, to try and replenish my hairline, but seeing as I'm 14, I can't really fund it, and my parents aren't too enthusiastic at my decision to go natural.
I don't even know if you're going to read this, but it seems I've found something to say after all bol! On a serious note though, I could really use this basket…

Okay my TWA is misbehaving and Im not sure what to use so this basket would be a good way to try out new products…I purchased the Ouidad curlkit over the weekend and I love it just not for my TWA… I used it to twist and curl my moms hair and it turned out fabulous…I let her keep the kit and I'll revisit the prodcuts once my hair grows out…

I honestly don't know what I would have done without CurlyNikki. If I had not found this site, I probably would have gone back to a relaxer instead of doing my BC in January. I came to this site for the very first time knowing nothing. Now, I'm fully confident in myself while wearing my hair in its natural state, and giving advice based on how I've interpreted her website's information. I appreciate the hard work that goes into helping our community out. Proof that this is the best information on the web for me came when I removed my headscarf and showercap (midday baggy) while I was at the mall and all my friend could say was "Oh my goodness, look at your hair!". I'm positive that I would not have had that episode of my journey without the help of the CurlyNikki family. I'm loving every moment.

I am transitioning for the second time around. I did the big chop in 2007 and had a TWA for a while which grew into a big bodacious afro that I had no idea what to do with so after the summer was gone, I didn't want to get braids or a weave I wound up relaxing again in Sept. of 2009.
I realize now that my daughter was watching my every move and her attendance to a private mostly other HS did nothing for her self-image and here I was saying inadvertently that being yourself isn't good enough.
Well, here we are in 2012 and I have been transitioning along with my daughter for about 5 months!! We are both excited and this time around with the help of forums such as this and BGLH I feel much more prepared to face the winter months without having to wear a weave or braids!

I recently stopped damaging my hair with frequent brushing, ripping combs through my hair, high heat straightening with no heat protectant, and blow-frying. I've found my hair to truly need plenty of moisture during the winter season. My new wonderful remedy is pureeing avocado & smoothing it on my hair with extra virgin olive oil. I leave on for 30 mins or more with self heating cap. It leaves my hair moisturized for a week tops! Healthy natural hair with natural products but I still want to win the *cocktail* to see more fab results!
I love that you have corralled many of the products that we know and love all in one place. It saves on having to go to 5 different websites just to get everything I need 😀

Question does your hair stay moisturized because you do spray with water everyday or does it just hold it's moisture from hair washing session to hair washing session?

I did the Big Chop March '07 and haven't looked back. Every now and then I get it blow-dried and flat-ironed, but I begin missing my regular hair in short time. I also have a friend that was horrified by my TWA,Melbourne hair but has since become one of my biggest natural hair supporters.
