The edgy singer and actress is known for her platinum blonde locks and ultra famous parents (Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz), but as Global Makeup Ambassador for Yves Saint Laurent beauty, she’ll be a household name.
Just days after her collaboration with the world’s premier jeweler Tiffany and Co. made news on Instagram, the iconic YSL brand announced that Zoë’s bold, strong, and unafraid style made her the top pick for ambassador. “As a muse for YSL in the US, Zoë has already been bringing her effortless cool of makeup pics and on-the go style tips via social media,” the brand said in a press release.
In 2016, she collaborated with YSL Beauty on a web series showcasing the pre-show beauty routines of women in music. “To me, makeup is this kind of war paint sometimes, especially before a show,” Zoë Kravitz says in her installment. “It changes the kind of performance that I’m going to give, the aesthetic that I’m kind of in touch with that night.”
The Big Little Lies star is excited to continue working with YSL. “YSL Beauty has always been one of my favorite brands,” she said. “Their ability to combine the chicest of styles with a raw edge has always been to me one of the best ways to express yourself through fashion and beauty. Nothing is forced, nothing is fake but everything is bold, strong and unafraid. I’m very excited to work with this legendary and timeless company.”
As the brand’s official face, “Zoë will kick-start her new international role with the first of several groundbreaking campaigns — Tatouage Couture,” the release reads. “She is the perfect fit for YSL’s own inventive, defiant and stylish heritage.”
“[Makeup] shouldn’t be something you use to cover up,” she told Refinery 29. “And I feel like YSL Beauty isn’t asking me to cover myself up or be something I’m not. Makeup should highlight your individuality.”
