Tired of Being Tired? Try This Walking Meditation!

+ Second Day Hair with Melanin Haircare

GoOD morning to Love appearing as YOU!

While in our GoOD Mornings live chat room today (it’s 6:30am ET everyday, Mon-Sun), the convo shifted to how everyone felt like they were dragging. Yoga and exercise classes had been shifted to midday and we were all feeling a collective low-energy. When asked how he was feeling one member replied, “tired of being tired. But I’m thuggin it.” The truth is, we all are. But that’s what this life is. Seeing through it all, even the tiredness of having a body. We feel tired because our nature is FREE… of everything… of jobs and these bodies. When we find this Freedom, this Love, while here, things get a little lighter.

I hadn’t recognized the sluggishness here, because there’s always a push Push PUSH present to get up and Mom, to get up and record the daily show, to get up and write now… but I did notice that music was playing. That’s how the Soul cares for this body. Before thought, I had hit play on my new favorite song. Now, don’t judge me. I’ve been living under a rock for the last 10 years, deep into my spiritual journey, so when Gene (my once hubby, still GoOD friend) sent me this video about a lion on IG yesterday, I was totally captivated by the music playing in the background (that 3 minute mark, tho!). Had NO idea it was from like 2013 lol, and further, had no idea about the Hillsong drama– my sister filled me in after I excitedly sent the song out to her, Mom, Gene, and everyone else who had ears to hear lol. It’s been on repeat since then (even now!), and so has this Gratitude, in every moment. Music stirs this Love that we practice together, which keeps us activated while we walk, while we talk, while we eat, while we drive, even while we sleep. I  shared a GoOD Mornings episode a while back called Love Steps with a walking meditation that may help on those days you’d rather crawl back into bed, but can’t. On those days you wished life was different. On those days where you don’t want to talk to anyone. Try this and see where it leaves you!

Second Day Hair

I rocked my modified pineapple to bed (the front half up in a loose banana clip near my forehead, and the back half down into a loose banana clip near my nape)… my kids say I look like Cindy Lou Who!  OH! I told you (maybe I didn’t) that I am slow-watching The Chosen on Amazon Prime. Amazing series. I LOVE the bedtime prayer, all the prayers, really, that they have Jesus recite. I can see how having a prayer for every activity during the day will keep you in the spirit of Gratitude and the (conscious) atmosphere of God.  To pray without ceasing, that’s why we practice mantra! I can dig it. This is the bedtime Shema–

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who brings sleep to my eyes, slumber to my eyelids.

May it be Your will, Lord my God and God of my ancestors, that I lie down in peace and that I arise in peace.

Let my sleep be undisturbed by troubling thoughts, bad dreams, and wicked schemes.

May I have a night of tranquil slumber.

May I awaken to the light of a new day, that my eyes may behold the splendor of Your light.

Praised are You, Lord whose glory gives light to the entire world.

When I  heard that line, ‘lie down in Peace and arise in Peace’, I jumped straight on Google. Beautiful. But back to Love appearing as second day hurr. I took it down and fluffed after massaging in a little Mielle Growth Oil and I’m good to go for at least another day! It’s a softer set than I’m used to (I’ll used smaller rollers next time, too), but whenever this happens, I just side swoop, and Prince and Revolution it!
How are you feeling today? Tired? Ready?! Share with me!

I am having a hard time logging in so that I can join the chat rooms. I don’t know what is happening! I am using my email address and password, but it does not recognize my password. Then, I have to reest my password and when I do this, I get a message that my email address is already in use. I don’t know what to do as I would really love to join the morning chat room.

To join the Morning Chat Room (Love Charging Station), since you’re already here and able to make this post.

I’d suggest that you simply type forum.curlynikki.com in the address bar of your browser.. Look for the purple talk blurb at the bottom right on your mobile device or computer.

Click on Chat Rooms & there you’ll find the LOVE CHARGING STATION. You’re welcome to join us (6:30am ET)

I hope this works for you until you’re able to resolve your email login or password reset issues.

      Love 🙏🏾

    👋🏾

I Read the night time one with my 7 year old and it was so GoOD. Thank you for sharing these! I went through the Chosen so fast that I completely missed these gems. Definitely going to incorporate these remembrances into our days.

  • Brittney says:

Same @nylse! Thank you for reminding us of these prayers from the Chosen. I’m in season 3 now but I’m definitely going to be mindful to incorporate them into daily practice. Glad to see you’re doing well Nikki and that as you’re evolving you’re always reaching back to help a sista out. ❤️
