The Listening Becomes Answered Prayer
Good morning. God morning to you.
Did you say good morning to God today yet? Did you turn to His mother and say good morning? Did you acknowledge that Presence that is there before you even open your eyes?
What was your first thought today? If it wasn’t about God, let’s try again tomorrow. If it was about a pain, a problem, work, or whatever issues you’ve been dealing with coming back into your awareness as soon as you came into consciousness, my goal here right now is to help you find Him first, before those thoughts find you, before they begin to torture you.
Because once you’re in Him, once He’s living where you are, those thoughts can’t come. They no longer have the ability to affect you, to try to bring you down. Sadness can’t take root.
That’s why I sleep with my Rosary under my pillow. I sleep with it in my hand. I wake up with it next to me, just as a visual reminder. It’s a tether. It’s like a leash, really, that I need to keep me tied to Him.
And so, whatever it is that’s happening in your life right now, you can handle it, as long as you’re handling the Rosary, handling your prayers, keeping the Rosary in your hand. Mother Mary has the other end. I’m holding it too. Jesus is holding it too. Your person whom you love who has transitioned, they’re holding it too. My grandma is holding mine. She’s holding yours.
Their prayers are working for us. Your prayers are working for me.
I spilled matcha on my computer today. Like half a glass of matcha. It still works. I’m here. You’re hearing me. I don’t know what will happen tomorrow or the day after. If you don’t hear from me, you know what happened.
But I prayed about it. I was supposed to be praying, but I was on the computer already and somehow knocked it over onto my beige carpet and computer, my laptop, my MacBook Pro. I cleaned it up and dried it out, and I prayed like my schedule was set to do. I prayed. When I finished praying, I got back on the computer, and it seemed to be okay. I prayed about the computer too, because that would be mighty inconvenient.
But I’m praying that God blesses the works of your hands, that you recognize that the work you are working right now has been given to you. You’re putting down crosses that are not yours to carry. You’re putting down work that is not yours to do, things that you’ve been doing in the gap, in the transition, to keep yourself busy. Too busy to be with Him. Too busy to acknowledge Him. Too tired to acknowledge Him. Too tired to know yourself.
This new creature that you are.
That’s over. That ended. This is a new day. This is not even a day. This is a prayer. This is prayer that a day will unfold into.
You are a prayer, an answered prayer, and your prayers will be answered in His time.
This is power that you’re coming into, that you’re waking up to, that you’re waking up as. But you have to practice it. You have to sit in His Presence.
That’s where my power comes from. That’s where these words come from. When I’m recording video, there are moments when, first, I pray. I say, “Jesus, give me words to give the person on the other side of this phone. One person, not thousands of people. One person. Let me touch their soul.”
So I pray in English, and then I pray in tongues. And then there seems to be a moment. Usually, it’s like a bird flies past the window. I’m usually in the car. A bird flies past, or a butterfly. Something in nature catches my attention because that’s what God knows sends me into silence. It breaks my concentration, my stream of thought, my Nikki-ness.
And then there’s quiet. There’s awe. There’s quiet, and then He comes in. His words come out. That’s how all of this happens.
And so, as we pray the Rosary, even when you’re praying without me, there need to be moments when you stop and listen. If you were to see those clips that I have to cut off, I’m literally looking off, but it looks like I’m listening or something. And I don’t hear Him say, “Say this to them.” The words just come like oil. They pour out of me. The work pours out of me. The words pour out.
And it happens when I’m listening. Like Joel Goldsmith says, keeping that right ear cocked.
Set an alarm to go off to pray, but also to listen. Listening is prayer too. And it’s the part of prayer that we often forget. We pray this Rosary, we get up immediately, often, and go about our day.
No. We have to get up and go about prayer. Continuing to listen. Continuing to listen.
If something is not going right in your life yet, then you just need to keep listening. And the next steps will unfold from the listening. The listening becomes the next steps. The listening becomes the answered prayer.
But we don’t listen. We scroll. And we eat, and we play, and we worry. That’s what we do the most. Let’s put that one at the top of the list. We worry, and we worry.
My child, my nine-year-old, whose math work is so hard, revealed to me that he sits up at night worried about not being able to understand something, or not being able to get finished with something so he can have time to do what he wants, which is moonwalk all over the house.
Worrying is not of God. It’s not of Him. It’s not Him. And as soon as we catch it, Love replaces it. But you’ve got to keep catching it. You’ve got to keep catching this fire.
And so, we’re going to pray the Joyful Mysteries. Enjoy. Find it. Find Him right now.
Acknowledge God and the Mother of God, who says, “Be not afraid. I am the Mother of God. Are you not enfolded in my arms, covered by my mantle? You are safe.”
Acknowledge her. Let her pray with you today. She’s in your room, in your space. She’s where that body you call yours is. She’s your mother. Ask her, “Be a mother to me now, please. Be a mother to me now.”
Feel her love. Feel the Love of her Son, because where she is, He is. Recognize Him. Acknowledge Him. Bow into His Presence. Come into the throne room.
We are in the throne room together. I’m sitting right next to you as we pray.
How to Pray With Us
For each of the five Joyful Mysteries, pray:
- One Our Father
- Ten Hail Marys
- One Glory Be
- One Fatima Prayer
The complete words of each prayer are included below so that beginners can pray along easily. You do not need to read ten printed copies of the Hail Mary. Pray the displayed Hail Mary ten times during each mystery.
The Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
The First Joyful Mystery: The Annunciation
The Angel Gabriel comes to Mother Mary to say the words that we are about to say 50 times.
Thomas à Kempis says, “Heaven rejoices, and earth is amazed when I say Hail Mary. Satan flees, hell trembles when I say Hail Mary. Sadness disappears, and joy returns when I say Hail Mary.”
Our Father
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary, prayed 10 times
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Fatima Prayer
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen.
The Second Joyful Mystery: The Visitation
Love is visiting you right now, as Mother Mary visits Saint Elizabeth. Love visiting Love, both of them full of Love. Saint John the Baptist is in the womb of Saint Elizabeth. Jesus the Christ is in the womb of Mother Mary.
But they’re looking at you. Mother Mary is looking at you. Her eyes are talking to you. What are they saying?
Notice that you can’t see Jesus yet, but you can feel Him. You can feel His Presence. She’s feeling His Presence. She’s teaching you how to feel His Presence inside of you.
Pray one Our Father, ten Hail Marys, one Glory Be, and the Fatima Prayer.
The Third Joyful Mystery: The Nativity
The birth of Jesus. The birth of Love. Love becoming visible.
Now I want you to see Him in His infant form, that Divine Infant, the Divine Child we spoke of yesterday, I believe. Look at Him. Look down at Him in the manger, or in Mother Mary’s arms, or in your arms, whatever comes naturally to you.
Don’t force anything. As soon as you let go, He shows you. As soon as you stop trying, He’s there. In your weakness is His strength, His power, His glory, His vision.
He’s giving you a vision right now. That’s not your imagination. See Him.

The Fourth Joyful Mystery: The Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple
Mother Mary is presenting Love to the Father. She’s presenting Love to you, teaching you how to hold Love, how to hold the sweetness.
When I’m praying, I’m rocking. I’m rocking in the sweetness. If you feel dry, I can’t promise you that rocking will make you feel the sweetness, but I kind of think it will. So you should rock with me, like we’re rocking a baby.
Pray one Our Father, ten Hail Marys, one Glory Be, and the Fatima Prayer.
The Fifth Joyful Mystery: Finding the Child Jesus in the Temple
Mother Mary is teaching us. Joseph is teaching you how to find Love again, and to feel it, and to hold it, and to rejoice with it and in it.
Feel Mother Mary’s relief. Joseph’s relief. Finding Love again.
Pray one Our Father, ten Hail Marys, one Glory Be, and the Fatima Prayer.
A Prayer for Uncle Michael
I pray for my great-uncle Michael, who transitioned just yesterday. I pray that he is welcomed into the light of Your face.
Salve Regina (Hail, Holy Queen) in Latin
Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae,
