Happy Sunday!
I was going to attempt to keep my twists in until tomorrow morning, but the anticipation got to me! Lustrasilk gets 2 thumbs up! My hair feels soft and product-free…no film here 😀 It imparted shine, moderate moisture, and a light hold (which may have been enhanced by the Oyin Juice). I’m very impressed. The only flaw is the lack of slip. It has a little, but the thick and creamy consistency of it would lead you to believe that it ‘should’ detangle like a dream. I think DevaCare still wins in the moisture and slip categories. However, shiny, moist, frizz-free hair, for less than 3 dollars is truly amazing, and Lustrasilk will become a mainstay in my routine. Lustrasilk + Oyin Juices and Berries is a winning team in my book. I sealed the wet ends with Naturally Me Body Butter, and re-sealed this morning with 100% Pure Shea Butter. The pics below are of my hair an hour ago, pre-fluffing.

Probably some ol' hatin behind jealous white skank or an insecure black man who doesn't realize that loving ourselves is a part of loving him. SMH.
Girl, your hair is truly an inspiration and a testament to good health (mind, body and soul).
Much love.
bitch take that weave out your head
I’m going to use it for a leave in and see what happens. I will let you know what happens.
Very nice
Girl..Your hair is FIERCE. I just LOVE IT!!!
Beautiful! So you used the Lustrasilk as a leave-in?? I have some of this already and just wanted to ask before I tried this.
The Lustrasilk works! I just put it on my ends last night and my ends are smooth and soft now. I’m sold!
Probably the most beautiful curls I’ve ever seen!
Stunning- just stunning
This Lustrasilk is this the kind that is meant for deep conditioning but your using it as a leave-in? I have a lekair naturals shea butter that is used as a leave-in as noted in the directions. I think lustrasilk, lekair and Queen Helens are the same I think.
I just noticed that the olive one does not list directions that mention the product should be rinsed out. However the shea butter does say rinse out. I wonder if it is because of the heavier shea butter. The olive ingredients are exactly the same except for the shea and mango. hmmm. Either way my intent was to use as a leave in but I was just wondering…
Thanks for the compliments ladies!! My hair is still holding up too! This combo has some holding power. I took care of a few halo frizzies today with the Body Butter. Thanks again!!! And please let me know results if you decide to experiment with it!
OMG LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE YOUR HAIR!!!!!
Your hair has that booyah bang! Your ends are so smooth and silky. I'm still working on my t&c, trying to get smooth ends.
GOOD LORD!!! Are you kidding me? OMG your hair looks so freakin beautiful!!! I’m going to buy this stuff tomorrow!

Chica, your hair is Awesome!! Now I am going to have to try the oldie but goodie cholesterol! I just bought the Devacare One C, thanks to you (LOL!) and now I will be revisiting the Cholesterol. I used bentonite clay for the first time last night and I loooovvvee it! Thanks for all of the advice.
Oh Yeah!
I did a twist/bantu out after using Abba Pure Gentle Leave-in along with the DevaCare One C and I love the results. My hair has never been shinier. You give great product reviews, tips, advice, and do a wonderful job of showcasing Beautiful Natural Ladies. Keep it up!
I am about to post my results on my blog. Check it out when you get a second.
Okay, so since I consider my hair to be a damaged, still recovering from the bad treatment it received in its childhood, evil twin version of yours, I’m gonna go head and jack your routine (again), lol.
Following your routines has made all the difference though as I try to grow out my poor heat damaged ends.
Sooooo, I’m picking up some Lustrasilk tomorrow! Already ordered some Greg juice that’s on the way.
nikki your hair is beautiful! I went to sallys today and bought the shea butter one and the olive oil one. Will try as a leave in over the aohr instead of the curls milkshake. I hope it works !
Gorgeous, beautiful, amazing, stunning, naturally fabulous!!! I love it…..
Your hair looks great and the shine is off the meter!
Absolutely beautiful!
You sold me on Lustrasilk, gonna get some this week. You know, I’m buying these products faster than I can use them or give them away. *shaking head*
Beautiful results!
Gorgeous
Thanks chicas!!
Anonymous, I’m happy to hear that I’m not the only one with positive results. I pray that this continues. I’d like to try the Olive Oil one next.
@ Olivia, I truly believe that henna jump started my length retention. I’m a henna head for life! But, please do your research before starting…it’s definitely one hell of a process!
nikki this blog is awesome! your hair is soooo beautiful! thanks for sharing!
Your results are gorgeous. You should rock the pre-fluff look. I used the lustrasilk last night as a leave in for the first time as well. My twists has the most shine they've ever had. In combination with the B-clay, used AO's Island Natural as a DT. Then twisted with the lustrasilk & coconut oil. The best twists I've ever had. It's a plus for me b/c it's my first time using B-clay & AO's Island Natural.
woah, i love your hair.
sl to apl… in a year? really? with henna?
i need to jump on the trend, like now.
beautiful results… 🙂
Nikki your hair looks great. About the slip and detangling….In the Sally’s that I went to they had and Aloe DT Lustrasilk…The only reason I didn’t get it was that it had mineral oil as an ingredient…I chose the Olive Oil one instead to see how that works.
Thanks ladies! I’m loving my results…and its even sweeter considering a 16oz tub costs 2.89!
SBB, I used the Shea+Mango one. I may try the Olive Oil one next. Which one are you going to try first? As far as my ends, I had a couple of frizzy ones, but the shea butter remedies that.
Thanks Nappturall, I don’t see why you can’t use it as a leave-in. Let me know what you think 🙂
OMG not a frizzy end in sight, beautiful! Gotta keep on trying. Did you use the Shea or the Olive Oil?
so so so soooooooooBEAUTIFUL! MAN i CAN’T WAIT FOR MY NEWLY twa GROW…SO I CAN EXPERIENCE THAT. I wonder if i can use that on my TWA for the moisture part…? Nikki you hair is soo pretty…Keep it up Queen~
gorgeous results!
Thanks Natakue! Definitely pick some up, I’d love to see your results. I went to your Fotki last night, and I was excited to see so many updates!!!! Your hair is growing fast and it looks awesome. Your Twist-n-Curl was gorgeous, I especially like the pic with your head down…the definition was hot 😀
