Hair Today- Twist-n-(pin)Curl Post Henna Treatment

Hola Chicas!

I wanted to quickly check-in and let you know that (1) I had an excellent henna experience the other day… the color is richer and shinier and the volume is turned up, (2) I wore my previously CurlFormer stretched hair in 11 twists for 2 days before releasing it to reveal the style below, (3) I skipped the flexi rods and pin curled just the ends of each twist using a little conditioner and a bobby pin, and (4) using a very minimal amount of Treasured Locks Argan oil left me with a soft, touchable, shiny set. I got a little frizz thanks to Hurricane Irene but it was the good kind.

what brand of henna did you use for this treatment

  • Tamara Cammack says:

Just FYI, If you plan to ever chemically color your hair, then DO NOT HENNA. I went to the salon this weekend and it was a nightmare. My stylist told me that I could I lost all of my hair (b/c I forgot to tell her I did a henna treatment a month ago). My hair turned green a little, but it did not smoke or fall out. She managed to save my hair, and it turned out nice. So if you ever plan to add color, DO NOT HENNA.

i love the color the henna brings to your hair. almost like a deep burgandy. Sucks for me because mine is more of an auburn color that i'm not too fund of. Kind of makes my hair look dry, but even still, i love the way it makes my hair feel.

I totally took advantage of the hurricane. I henna'd my hair with Jamila & Giovanni condish. Left it on for 8 hrs. Washed out then applied AOHSR. Rinsed then applied kimmaytube leave-in consisting of shea moisture treatment mask, aloe vera juice & castor and jojoba oils. Then i did a TnC. Yes…it was a lovely day.

Looks great! I had a henna session yesterday 🙂 Added indigo tho and not doing that again. Don't like it.

GASP – are you wearing… lipgloss?

I don't see a lot of definition this time around. Still looks great though.

Your hair is soooooo Beautiful. I have been applying henna treatments for about a month now weekly. I love the results but Im gonna slow the treatments way down, I hardly have any curl pattern any more. My hair is fine but I can say the henna has strengthened it tremendously. How often do you do henna treatments?

  • Meena says:

Your post the other day ispired me. I did a henna treatment today, deep conditioned and am now stretching in 4 braids with kimmaytubes leave in conditioner. My hair feels great! I plan to do a braid out and wear it bunned up for the week.

    Your hair looks great!
