How long have you been natural?
I’ve been natural for 9 months
Did you transition or big chop?
I transitioned for a little over a year.

Did you always like/embrace/appreciate your hair texture?
I love my hair texture. All 4. If I would change anything I’d have one of the 4.
How did family and friends react to your decision to go natural?
The reaction for the most part has been, no one cares, Wow I love it, And I’m going to try it.
What’s your current routine?
I wash my hair every week, with shampoo and conditioner. Mid week I will cowash. I part my hair into 4 sections while washing to reduce detangling time. I deep condition as often as I have time. I recently cut my hair so my hair gets twisted while damp (thats my go-to hair style). Twists are done on wet/damp hair after being washed. I use Shea butter and castor oil to style. My twists are medium sized, I make about 10-25 total. Shea butter and castor oil are my most consistent products. I’ve tried many other products and always go back to them. For shampoo and conditioner I am currently using Chagrin Valley shampoo bars and Trader Joes Nourish and Shine Conditioner.

Night time routine?
At night I retwist or braid my hair. I do not use a comb. I retwist to avoid matting and tangling. If my hair feels dry I may add Shea butter, castor oils or a moisturizer. I also tie my hair with a silk scarf.
