“In youth, it was a way I had,
To do my best to please.
And change, with every passing lad
To suit his theories.
But now I know the things I know
And do the things I do,
And if you do not like me so,
To hell, my love, with you.”
– Dorothy Parker
What is the most important, can’t-live-without thing in your world? Your God, your Values, your Faith in humanity? What keeps you from stealing and killing people or from jumping off a bridge? What makes you feel infinite and young and old, as if you’ve been here many times before? Your will to live and thrive has a source and to live a fulfilling life, it is your business to know it with fiery certainty and not be ashamed to own it.
Your Inner Warrior.
How do you do courage? How do you do fear? Have you even discovered your inner warrior? The one that won’t quit, who keeps overcoming, even when you think you’ve given up. The one who inspires others without realizing it, falling down and getting up, serving a purpose beyond your perception. You are stronger than you think and your fight is more meaningful when you share it.
What inspires you to stay up all night and daydream all day? Wear it on your sleeve. Leave breadcrumbs so more of it can find you. Speak of it, write about it, sing it. Connect with your Source and seek out more of it. Challenge your Inner Warrior to be brave, go get your inspiration, trust it, create from it, and share it.
Your Sweet Spot.
Where do your talents and passions intersect? Knowledge meets Understanding meets Wisdom. Education meets Experience meets Purpose. Where does it all come together? Journey inside to this special place and see what it holds. Perhaps you have overlooked or taken for granted. Perhaps everyone sees it but you because it’s so nestled in your core. Perhaps your Muse is waiting for you there.
Where do you draw the line? How do you do self-preservation? Decide what stays out and what comes in and speak your truths. Trust your instincts and know what is real for you, what is worth sacrificing, and what you will allow. Package your life your way by letting go of the pieces that restrict you and fortifying the pieces that support you.
Your Dark Side.
What are your doubts, fears and weaknesses? Accepting them will calm you. Exploiting them will connect you and distance you and free you all at once. Forget the pretense and self-punishments. Your shadows exist to bring out your power to choose love. What energy will you feed?
Your Inner Beauty.
What do you love about yourself? Let the world see it in what you do, what you say and how you live. It is your gift, your duty to share and it cannot be taken away. Do not dim your light for anyone.
How do you contradict yourself? Acknowledge your complexity. You are a human and a soul, a fundamental contradiction. Don’t try to be all one thing or hide yourself in rules. You deserve complete exploration. Rather than sit and wait for the world to tell you who you should be, you can get up and claim your right to find out for yourself.
