My name is Morenike and I’m from Detroit. I big chopped 2/2011.
How long have you been natural?
I’ve been natural all of my life. I decided to transition once I got tired of my heat damage and wanted to do twists and braids. My ends were so damaged they didn’t curl anymore.
What motivated you to transition? Were you a transitioner or a Big Chopper& why?
I started watching youtube videos and wanted to start wearing my hair in its natural state again. As a child, I wore braids and twists all of the time. I transitioned for about 7 months and then out of nowhere I decided to big chop.

Right now I co-wash or shampoo and deep condition once a week. A month ago I started a new workout routine so I only style once per week.
