I have been using all three oils for the last few months and have lumped them all into one single review. How come? Because I didn’t notice any one oil performing much differently than the other. I contacted the vendor regarding the labeling of the oils being 6x more concentrated as compared to 4x concentrated (which as once available on the website) and was told it had to do with the amout of herbs used in the initial creation — some very complicated measure.
I used the oils in few ways:
-Deep Conditioner Boost – Added a few tablespoons to one of my usual deep conditioners and didn’t notice any difference in the performance of said conditioner.
-Leave-in Conditioner – After detangling, I massaged 3 different oils on 3 different sections, plaited my hair and waited for it to air dry. Once dried, my hair didn’t really feel like anything was applied at all.
-LOC method – After stretching my hair with heat, moisturizing with a Palm Tapioca Cream and using either of these oils to seal, my hair felt great! It appeared to smooth my cuticles and hair was very shiny.
I appreciate that these KeraVada oils are packaged in bottles with tips for easy scalp access. This made my scalp massages much less messy. Though these oils are marketed for various uses (pre-shampoo, hot-oil treatment), I only found use on dry hair to be beneficial for me. It really appeared to work well with whichever cream moisturizer I chose.
These oils are Ayurvedic, which often results in some pretty funky smelling concoctions, yet they were each nicely fragranced. Even the Hibiscus Rosemary Neem Shikakai oil had no remnants of the horrid neem scent.
Overall, the 4 in 1 Conditioner/Cleanser would not be something I would purchase, but the oils are a go!
Photos below feature a fresh twist-out after wearing twists for 7 days. I moisturized with Palm Tapioca and sealed with all three oils.
